How do we say thank you?
How do we say thank you to the approximately 150 volunteers who gave their time Valentine’s Day weekend, helping visitors, helping rescues and shelters, helping animals, and generally helping the event to run smoothly?
How do we say thank you to the rescues and shelters that come out year after year and trust us to help them find homes for their dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils, birds, and even tortoises?
How do we say thank you to everyone who so generously donated to My Furry Valentine, through our general campaign, raffle tickets, and fundraisers, so that we have already been able to take the first steps towards preparing for next year’s event?
How do we say thank you to the vendors and sponsors who come out to support us, whether it be for the first time this year or for the past several years, to help provide for animal-loving families and keep the costs down for participating rescues and shelters?
How do we say thank you to the over 13,500 visitors who visited My Furry Valentine this year, despite the level 2 snow emergency that also made an appearance at the end of the weekend?
So how do we say thank you?
We can’t. Not fully. Instead we’ll let Princess Leia thank you for getting to sleep in a comfy bed instead of the shelter. We’ll let Finn give you a big kiss for finally getting a little girl of his own. We’ll let Lilly show off her grin for finding her family, despite a few tougher-to-fill needs like an expensive medical condition and a pet-free home. We’ll let Hercules give you a peek at his new reptilian soulmate. If we could, we would let all 776 animals and counting who found homes through My Furry Valentine express their thanks, because they would do a far better job than we ever could.
For now, we simply say: thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
