Pet Bio: Hey everyone! Meet Teapot! Teapot has had a short but difficult life. Her story is not for the faint of heart but man she deserves the world after all she has been through! When JL received the call about Teapot, we could never imagine how bad it actually was until we saw it in person. Teapot came to us with the worst mastitis any of our vets had ever seen. Not only that, she was also pregnant. We believe she had back to back litters and that the mastitis was from the first litter and then she got pregnant with the second litter right after because she was not far enough along to cause the mastitis with the second litter. Her mastitis was so bad that they could not spay her or do any sort of surgery to help her so we had to use antibiotics, warm water soaks and a whole lot of other treatments to try to help her get better without intentionally hurting the kittens. After about a month, she gave birth to 4 kittens. Unfortunately due to the infection they endured while in utero, none of them lived. However, that also meant we could start getting stronger with meds to help Teapot get better. We were able to get a culture of the bacteria that was raging within her body and come to find out all of the medicine she was being given, the bacteria was resistant to! Once we were able to get her on the one singular antibiotic her infection would respond to, she turned a corner but as all the sayings go, “it’s gotta get worse before it gets better” and boy did it! After a lot of one on one care, lots of vet visits, and even more love from her foster, Teapot has been medically cleared for adoption! She will be getting her spay at the beginning of November and will be ready to meet her forever family after that! If you have made it this far, thank you for your interest in our beautiful little girl. She is such a loving cat and would love to have a loving family of her own. Through all that she went through, the shots, the injectable meds, the warm water soaks, she never stopped purring. She was always ready for attention and love! She would do best in a house without dogs or at least in a place where she can get away from the dogs if she needs to. She will definitely need no other cats in the home as she does go after them. She is ready to give all of her love just to you!!
