Pet Bio: Ash is a very loving boy, but he has some special needs! He does have a list of medical problems and will need to be strictly, medically managed throughout his life. The most important is a liver shunt. As we have been told, his is inoperable. Therefore, he will need to remain on a special prescription diet and medications throughout his life. Veering off his strict diet will cause toxins to build up in his body and can cause behavioral issues as well. Due to the liver shut and other medical issues he has a hard time controlling his bowel and bladder. Ash has medical related behaviors. When the protein levels in his body are to high he can become aggressive. This is usually towards other animals but he is also grouchy with humans during this time. As his liver shunt worsens, it is possible his behaviors will increase. Sleep is also a bit of a challenge for him. He takes frequent naps but doesn’t sleep for long periods of time or make it through the night. Ash is a great boy with lots of energy, loves life and being with his human. All dogs adopted from the event will go home with a free leash and collar. Harnesses and beds will also go home with adopters as long as supply lasts.
