Five easy ways to Give Them Ten
So you are either thinking of adopting a pet or have already done so. Now, it’s time to ask yourself what else you can do to help these fun, furry, loveable creatures. Cat lovers look no further: We’ve got five ideas for you.
- Adopt a cat. Attend the My Furry Valentine adoption event on Feb. 14 & 15 to take home one of these furry felines.
- Spread the word about spay/neuter. Too many cats die in kill shelters because of overpopulation. By spaying or neutering your cat, you are helping control overpopulation while promoting cat health and better in-house cat behaviors. Still not convinced? Check out all the reasons you should spay/neuter.
- Become a Cativist. Scooter the Neutered Cat is helping promote the benefits of spay and neuter options and get people involved in the Ten movement. Now, you are able to join Scooter’s Posse to learn more about the ways you can get involved and the benefits of spay/neuter.
- Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR). Community cats need our help too. And, there are more than 70 million homeless cats in the U.S. By participating in TNR practices, you can help control the homeless cat population in a safe and positive way.
- Build a winter shelter. No animal should be left outside to suffer the cold winter months. Give community cats a place to stay on cold days and nights by building a simple winter shelter.
