The Shelter Pet Project is the result of a collaborative effort between two leading animal welfare groups, The Humane Society of the United States and Maddie’s Fund, and The Ad Council. The campaign goal is to make shelters the first place potential adopters turn when looking to get a new pet, ensuring that all healthy and treatable pets find loving homes. This is accomplished by breaking down misconceptions surrounding shelter pets and communicating that “A person is the best thing to happen to a shelter pet. Be that person. Adopt.”

My Furry Valentine is the Tri-State's largest annual companion animal adoption event. Organized by a small group of local animal advocates, MFV brings together dozens of local rescues and hundreds of adoptable pets under one roof. We encourage all local residents who are considering or looking for a new furry addition to their families, to come and meet our participating groups to learn more about the adoption process and meet their adoptable animals. Our event also offers entertainment and fun for the whole family.
