The Kenton County Animal Shelter was established by the Kenton County Fiscal Court in accordance with the Kentucky Revised Statutes. Our mission is to provide services that safeguard the public health and safety, to house and care for animals humanely in our charge, to protect the animals of the community from abuse and neglect, and to provide the county’s citizens with information regarding responsible animal ownership.
Adoptable Animal Types & Adoption Fees
Kenton County Animal Shelter has the following adoptable animal types available and their adoption fees are as follows:
- Puppies: $80.00
- Dogs: $80.00
- Kittens: $80.00
- Cats: $80.00
All of their adoptable animals are spayed/neutered prior to adoption, current on all DHPP/FVRCP and Bordatella vaccines, microchipped and if age appropriate, all of their animals are rabies vaccinated.
Potential adopters fill out a one page application after they have spent time with and picked an animal that will fit best in their home. If everything on the application checks out they can adopt the animal that day. If the animal is already fixed they go home that day. They are also half price if the animal is already fixed. If not we send them out on Mondays and Thursdays and their new families pick them up that same afternoon. They also get their rabies vaccines at that time.
